Sharing Her Story - Speaking Availability

Since the publication of her first book "When Fear and Faith Collide" in February 2008, Jan has had the opportunity to share her story at many gatherings in Brevard County. She has talk with several Sunday School classes, small groups and women's Bible studies. In April, she was honored to be the key note speaker at "Mug and Muffin", a women's program offered at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Satellite Beach, Florida. Pastor Michael Carey of Trinity Presbyterian also interviewed Jan and shared her story in a sermon series called "Fear Factor". One of her most meaningful opportunities was sharing her story and its effect on her faith at Impakt, a youth worship service at Suntree United Methodist Church in Melbourne, Florida.

Jan is looking forward to speaking opportunities at her childhood church in Glenview, Illinois, at the Brevard Association for the Blind and at Lions Clubs who are supporters of the blind and visually impaired.

"I look forward to any opportunity to share my story with others who face visual challenges themselves or may know others dealing with sight loss, and for those facing fears of the unknown when encountering loss at any level. My story deals with the loss of my sight, but loss is universal and it impacts all our lives and the fears born of that loss," says Jan.

If you would like Jan to come and share her story with your group, large or small, please contact her.

Here are a few personal testimonies from those who have heard Jan share her story and her faith

As a pastor on the lookout for credible examples of Christ-followers who demonstrate his resurrection-life, I was so very pleased to meet Jan Janicki and read her book, When Fear and Faith Collide. The women’s ministry of Trinity Presbyterian Church had arranged for her to speak before a crowd of more than 120, which she did quite effectively. She also served as a real-life illustration as part of one of my “Fear Factor” sermons—“Fear of Aging and Illness.” Jan and I were videotaped discussing her discovery of how God provided for her as she slipped into darkness, and how God now used her blindness to help others “really see” the beautiful world around them. Jan is authentic while brimming with hope, the kind of witness who will be heard and believed!

The first time I heard Jan's story I was just so blessed. You see five years ago due to an aneurysm I had brain surgery and during that procedure my right optic nerve was clipped. So now I am blind in my right eye. So there have been times of sadness, anger and even sometimes blessings. One of those many times of blessing is when I see Jan or hear her testimony or when I read her book. So whenever I start to get frustrated with my lack of sight in one eye I just remember Jan and Praise God for her and her willingness to share her story.

When Fear and Faith Collide is a beautiful testimony about God's provision when storms occur in our lives. Jan's message of hope and dependance on God will inspire all of us to trust in God to keep us in the palm of His hands no matter what circumstance surrounds us. Jan is a vibrant, joyful woman with a contagious enthusiasm for the adventures life can bring when you surrender your life to God!
